James Phelps White III passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Ocala, Florida where he lived for the past 10 years. Born on July 1, 1932, in Roswell, New Mexico, he was the only child of Mary Beers and JP White Jr. and grandson of Lou Tomlinson and James Phelps White Sr.
Phelps was raised in Roswell, where he learned to appreciate his family heritage, especially in the history of farming and ranching in Chaves County. He cherished his experiences as a son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

James Frank Gill, 75, of Roswell, NM passed surrounded by family and loved ones on March 16, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on June 16, 1948 to Walter Lee Gill and Iola McCombs Gill in Clovis, NM.
Jim’s roots in the community were deep from birth as the fourth generation of Roswell Seed Company, and he made them even stronger through a lifetime of being the heartbeat of the entire Southeastern New Mexico community.

Mary Lou McGee Glass passed away peacefully on September 20, 2022 surrounded by loved ones in her home in Roswell, New Mexico. Mary Lou was born on September 9, 1933 in Roswell to Zoa White McGee and Horace Hamilton (Litz) McGee. She was the granddaughter of James Phelps and Lou Thomlinson White, a well-known area ranching family.

She devoted 40 years of volunteer work in creating many of the exhibits in the Historical Society for Southeastern New Mexico Museum.
